Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of ogshot (the "Service"), a rendering API operated by [Your legal entity] ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

ogshot turns a URL or HTML you provide into an image — Open Graph / social-preview images and screenshots — over an HTTP API. Features, limits, and pricing may change as the Service evolves.

2. Accounts and API keys

You sign in with GitHub and receive API keys. You are responsible for keeping your keys and signing secrets confidential and for all activity that occurs under them. Notify us promptly if you believe a key has been compromised; you can revoke and reissue keys from your dashboard at any time. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use the Service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • render, capture, or distribute content you don't have the rights to, or that is unlawful, infringing, or harmful;
  • attempt to reach private, internal, or restricted network resources, or otherwise circumvent our SSRF and security controls;
  • overload, disrupt, or probe the Service or its infrastructure, or exceed the rate limits and quotas of your plan through automated evasion;
  • resell or redistribute the Service as a substantially similar standalone product; or
  • use the Service to violate the rights of others or any applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

4. Plans, billing, and quotas

Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Plans include a monthly quota of renders; cache hits do not count toward it. Exceeding your quota may result in requests being declined until the next billing period or an upgrade. You can cancel at any time from the customer portal; cancellation stops future renewals, and access continues until the end of the current period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with reasonable notice.

5. Availability and "as is"

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular render will succeed. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. Your use is at your own risk.

6. Intellectual property

You retain all rights to the content you submit for rendering and to the images produced from it. You grant us the limited right to process, transiently store, and cache that content solely to operate the Service. We retain all rights to ogshot itself.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or to comply with the law. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (including 5, 6, 8, and 9) survive.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim, or USD 50.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If we make material changes, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Your jurisdiction], without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts located there.
